Peter said “I go a fishing”
The rest of the disciples understood.
That is the only trade he knew.
Perhaps they all had a similar feeling
With the Lord ascended,
Peter felt emptiness
A void that had to be filled
Not that he missed his profession so much
But the awesome presence of the Lord
Was strongly and conspicuously missed
More so the Holy Spirit has not yet descended
And the power required has not been received.
He recalled the first day of the call
When the Lord had said, “ follow me”
And I will make you fishers of men
The previous despair after catching nothing
All Night!
And the great miracle that followed,
The superlative catch,
That made the master irresistible to follow.
Many Peter there are today,
Like you and me
Christ reveals Himself
And you find Him irresistible to follow
Going a fishing with Him
His presence going with us wherever
Doing the great commission
The Lord of the harvest guarantees the harvest
But just like Peter, these is a lure, a pull
A longing for what we used to do
When the presence of the Lord
Seems to depart from us
Or rather when we depart from His presence
We desire to do another fishing
As we receive power,
When the Holy Spirit has descended upon us
We are empowered to go fishing
Fishing for men!
Peter indeed received power
You and me and the body of Christ,
Are fruits of that great move.
So, be equipped
Take all the instruments required
Let us all go fishing.

You have some irregularities of punctuaion--hard to tell if they're part of the free verse style, or unintentional.
Good POV and use of the topic word.
