Writing is exquisite and expressed in a variety of ways. I keep a journal to record my prayers, thoughts, experiences, and feelings. I can go back to my journal entries and see revelations that I did not know God was giving me at the time I wrote them. I can see prayers that have been answered in ways that I had never imagined. I write poetry to describe the beauty and the wonders of God. Some of the poems I write can also be dismal, for this world contains both good and evil. My dismal poems have brought hope to others because they know that someone else feels the same way and they are not alone. I write devotions. Devotions take Scripture and reveal a point of view to ponder upon which can bring new insight and spiritual growth.
Writing can be a challenge. The greatest written pieces are ones inspired by God. The challenge comes when I have to step outside of myself and truly listen to God. Allowing God to work through me is a great honor. It is a wonderful gift to be able to bring His Word to the world. I boldly face the challenge to pull close to Him so I can hear what He wants me to write for others. When I write for me, I get even closer to Him for that is when my soul speaks to Him.
God has a plan that surpasses all understanding. God inspired great writers to give us the laws and guidelines for living. These writers penned the Words and collected them in the Bible which is a masterful history book, a reflection of who God really is, and a confirmation that the words I am writing are words directly from Him.
