True Friends
When you talk about friendship
And what it means to you,
Don’t forget that to mean anything
A friendship must be true.
A true friend is someone
With whom you can share.
And know that this friend
Is really going to care.
A true friend will lift you up
In prayer to the Father.
And will never tell you that
He cannot be bothered.
A true friend will stick by you
Through thick and thin.
And never walk away
Just when your troubles begin.
A true friend will help you handle
Whatever comes your way.
And since you need God’s help for that,
A true friend will help you pray.
The very best friends that
There can ever be for you.
Are God, the Father, the Son
And the Holy Ghost too.
So when you talk about friendship
And what it means to you.
Remember that Our Father’s friendship
Will forever be true.
