We were friends ...
We grew up together
We went to school together
We attended church together
We partied together.
We were friends ...
We shared secrets to each other
We dreamed of our future together
We cried for the loss of loved ones together
We walked the teenage path together.
But, something happened.
We were no longer doing things together.
You didn’t tell me one secret
That would change our lives forever.
And when I knew,
It sure hurt.
I felt betrayed
What should I do?
For a while I sulked
I just couldn’t bear it
My best friend getting married
But I was not invited.
Life had to go on.
Then I became a Christian
I have experienced God’s forgiveness
And I remembered you.
Friends forgive
Though the trust may be betrayed.
So I made that call
Thank God I did.
'Coz you were just waiting
After all these years,
And now we’ve become friends again
Friends forever.
