Have you forgotten me
An old lady sitting in the window
Of the assisted living home
No family of her own
Forgotten by the world
She once knew as her own
Have you forgotten me
The child sitting in the pouring rain
Living a life in a cardboard box
Surviving just another day on the street
Praying for hope, maybe even a home
But none is ever found
Have you forgotten me
The inmate sitting behind the prison bars
Serving life for a crime so long ago
Years wasted, hate stated
No name just another number
And another forgotten face
Have you forgotten me
The teenage girl outside the abortion clinic
Her hand trembling over the life she holds inside
Today she’s made the decision that her child must die
No one to hold her, to help me make it through
She may have been forgotten by everyone but you
Have you forgotten me
The solider fighting overseas
Searching for some answers
As he falls on his knees
In danger ever moment
Struggling just to survive
Wondering if today will be his last
Or tomorrow he’ll still be alive
Have you forgotten me
The widow surrounded by her children
Standing at her husband’s grave
Telling herself she’s now alone
For her children she must be brave
And more tears just continue to fall
As she wonders if there is any God out there at all
Have you forgotten me

The King will reply, “I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.”- Matthew 25:40

Sobering message about the "forgotten" ones! Especially at this time of year, when it's cold out, and they are often extra-lonely because of the holidays, we need to remember the people you mentioned.

I would suggest spacing between each different person highlighted for greater impact and easier reading, though.

Thank you for sharing! :)
