Dear Daddy

I saw him in my dreams each night,
I daydreamed of him in the light.

I always wondered where he was
Where had he been; what was the cause?

Other’s watched me in his place,
My father couldn’t fill the space.

No room for me in his new life,
With other children and a wife.

I spent my life with dreams of Dad,
Did he love me, was he sad?

One day, well within my teens,
I felt Christ’s love come on the scene.

Dad gave to me his DNA,
With Christ’s love, I found a better way.

So Dad, wherever you might be,.
Don’t worry. The Great Father cares for me.

Perhaps one day we will meet,
If you love Christ, it will be sweet.

I’ll meet you in the Heaven above
Where you and I can talk of love.

The love that we both might have shared,
Will be perfected because Christ cared.

Cared enough to give us life,
So we could meet without the strife.

So Daddy, don’t be sad for me,
My Heavenly Father is here, you see.

To do the things you haven’t done,
He knows; because He gave His Son.

To die for us on Calvary’s Tree,
So one day you could share with me.

The wonders of His greatest love;
A Heavenly home for us above.

This is very nice. I'm so glad you chose to focus on the joy of your Heavenly Father and not to dwell on the absence of your eartly father. Good work.

I liked the idea of God giving you His DNA. I also loved that you wrote the son's hope for his physical father to come to know your Heavenly Father. End ryhmes were nice!
