A River of Life

There’s a river of life, flowing to you. There’s a river of life flowing through you. Can’t

you feel the cool stream of water rolling gently over you; from the top of your head, to

the tip of your toes? Hear it, see it, smell it, taste it, and touch it. The river of abundant

life, reaches from the north, the south, the east, and the west. All around the world it

goes, there is no stopping it. No! No! No! That river reaches from the highest

mountain, and it flows to the lowest sea. As you sit quietly by the bank of that river,

suddenly you noticed the crystal clear water. Then you thought out loud saying, “Must I

jump in, must I jump in?” A second thought quickly entered your mind and you said, “I

can’t, I won’t, I don’t…what if.” Then you said quicker than quick, “Yes I will, I can,

and I most. From deep inside of you courage sprang up, and you dove in. Oh the

calmness of the waves; the unspeakable joy that you felt. Here’s what you’ll say, “I can’t

hold it within any longer.” A decision will be made instantly. You’ll know for certain

that you must tell someone else, how great the river is. The beauty is breath taking; the

peace is tranquil. There is nothing that can compare to the river of life. Get to know the

river intimately; it’s life changing.

Very picturesque! I wonder if the central section might be more effective if written in the first person; as I read it, I was thinking that none of those things had ever happened to me...but in the first person, I'd be interested in your reaction as they happened to you. Did that make sense at all? You have a lovely way with words--keep writing!

Very vivid word picture. Nicely done.
