I have seen a sign posted about a team of Anybody, Somebody, and Nobody(author unknown) in the various places I have worked. In this poem they talk about how an assignment fell through due to Anybody, Somebody, and Nobody assuming each one did the job. This made sense when I was younger and a follower and I thought it pretty wise. As I grew in maturity and found myself in a leadership role, I read this again and felt it was incomplete. I felt obligated to write my own poem to complete the picture.
The continuing saga of the team
Anybody, Somebody, and Nobody it seems
Lacks something more in this little scheme
A captain perhaps, someone to lead this team.
Whose to blame we may ask
had a leader assinged the task
The job would have been complete
and all would have known success so sweet
But without a person to take the lead
The task was doomed never to succeed
Round and round they all ran
with no help of a guiding hand
So who really dropped the ball
It seems to be a very close call
without the presence of competent leadership
the goal from their hands quickly slipped
