" Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan, unto John, to be baptised by him." Matthew 3:13

Our Lord, Jesus Christ was baptised in the MIGHTY JORDON RIVER and the heavens opened unto him as we open unto HIM by being faithful Christians.

"And Jesus when he was baptized, went up straightway from the water: and lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove, and coming upon him; and lo, a voice out of the heavens, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." Matthew 3:16-17

When we open unto Christ and give our heart God is pleased and calls us His own. Was Jesus showing us the only way to come into the graces of God was through water baptism? YES!

The Bible says: "John came baptizing in the wilderness and preaching a baptism for the remission of sins. And all the land of Judea, and those from Jerusalem, went out to him and were all baptised by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins." Mark 1:4,5

We must cross our MIGHTY JORDON through confessing our sins, by the baptism of the water. We must please the LORD, "They that gladly received His Word were baptized..." Acts 2:41

Those that have committed to cross the MIGHTY JORDAN and give themselves to the LORD must be baptised in the river of redemption.

A great devotion! I like the phrases 'MIGHTY JORDAN' and 'river of redemption'
