I have worked for large and small companies, and feel that even the "employee friendly" companies lack the leadership that is needed.

If I was the President of a large corporation, to be a successful leader, I would take the top management, say the top twenty-five, and have them sit or do the administrative assistant, maintenance, truck driver, even if they weren't doing the job, but were sitting with them. I believe that would have such a impact, and there would be less in-fighting within the "ranks" of the company.

Most of the problems in a good leader, come from inability to delegate responsibility, and not understanding the jobs of those that work under you.

If a leader is given a $10,000 bonus, and that receptionist is having trouble going to a leadership seminar because of "lack of funding" that will cause problems.

In conclusion, a good leader, shows compassion, earns respect and is someone to be looked up to and admired as well as pulling those up below him/her.
