Topic: Shrewdness (03/07/05)
“Businesspersons making key decisions are shrewd.” This statement would give the average reader a perception that the experience level of the professional description is very high. However, after looking up the word root word--shrewd, the archaic terms definition is “to be mischievous.” However, over time, as human nature matured, the ominous and negative connotations of the word “shrewd” have become obsolete. Shrewdness has taken on another dimension. Shrewdness now caters to our attitudes and approach of wisdom in negotiations and level-headedness versus a harmful measure of behavior. Therefore, count it worthy to be able to display shrewdness when using discernment (birthright of all humans to know good and evil, Hebrews 5:14, NKJ), to thwart the enemy. Christians, exercise your shrewdness.
