A little boy with beautiful brown skin
Treated like he was nothing, less than nothing.
A young mother with a beautiful baby girl
Who will suddenly have to grow up without her.
The young man who had it all going for him
But whose anger took away his last chance.
The teenage girl trying with all her strength to fit in
Only to find that the world had its mind already made up.
The young woman who knows the truth about true love
But who also knows the depths of her mistakes and can’t look up.
There is One who understands
There is One who carried on His shoulders
The weight of the world.
He carried the pain of rejection.
He carried the pain of loss.
He carried the pain of disappointed hopes.
He carried the pain of loneliness.
He carried the pain of shame.
He carried them all.
Carried them all the way
All the way to the Hill of Calvary,
All the way to the Cross of Calvary.
And there He hung…
Having lost everything,
A big disappointment,
In total disgrace.
He hung there in defeat, our defeat
Taking our place
Purchasing victory, our victory
At the cost of all He had.
No one took His life.
He gave it up willing.
He gave it up because He loved,
Because He is love.
So He gave, gave it all,
For all, on the Cross.
