Where there is no vision, the people perish:… Proverbs 29: 18 (KJV)

“Write the vision upon the tablet of my heart, Lord that I may live and know your will. Rekindle the flame of that vision which once burned so bright. I vaguely recall what reduced it to mere embers, but it still smolders underneath the hard surface of my beating heart.”

“I will grant your wish, little one and imprint your soul with my desires. I will break up the hardness that surrounds your heart. There is but one request that I make. Love only me, make me the center of your life.”

“Yes my love, my Lord I can do that simple request.”

……..

Fast forward three years and I find myself overcome with emotion as I walk across the barely dried foundation, poured only weeks prior. I envision the walls not yet raised, the door to my office, the castle puppet stage and the children. Oh, the children with their sweet smiles and laughter fill the room.

I bow in awe at how quickly you caused it to burst forth, like new flowers in spring pushing up through the hard soil after a winters sleep.

A non-traditional mission field located in the middle of nowhere way off a country road. This task will be difficult. The ground of these people’s hearts is hard like Pharaohs and untilled. Lord, give me the strength and patience to till up the hard ground, sow the seeds of your love and water the hearts of the little ones that you have given me charge over.

Thank you Lord for fulfilling the vision you placed in my heart so long ago. It seems like ages now. I wondered if I would ever see it come to fruition, but you are a man of your word and I should have never doubted you. You have engraved the vision upon my heart just as you said you would.

I am now fully alive!

God, the God who plants the vision and nurtures it to fulfilment. THank you for this reminder.
