In every part of life we have to put forth an effort. If we want to make a difference in someone’s life, we must make a true effort. A lot of people define “work” as many different things such as: going to a place of employment putting in ones time and collecting a paycheck. Some say it is doing something physical that requires sweat and time that you do some that is productive and you can be proud of. Some say that it is leaving your comfort zone to do for someone else that you would not normally do. Some say working or not working is how you win or lose the game …. You WORK to WIN!

God doesn’t really say that it is whether you win or lose in life that matters, but how you play the game. See, if you are a Born Again Believer (by that I mean, accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior) then you have already won the game. However, God is concerned with how you play the game of life. You see, our lives will or will not demonstrate the love of God. Unfortunately there are a lot of people that claim the name of Christ, but do have the power of Christ in their lives. Then there are those that receive Christ as their Savior and think that life is going to be all kicks and bubbles. God doesn’t say that life is going to go smooth, however, He does say just the opposite of that all that live godly will suffer persecution.

The Christian life is easy in the aspect of just obeying and submitting to God’s authority and leading. It will, however, take some effort or “work” on our part. What work is involved on our part? Well, for one Jesus said, “Go ye into all the world…”, “be ye holy for I am holy”, “Let your light so shine…”. I didn’t give the scripture references on purpose, because I want you to search the scriptures and learn the Word of God for yourself. Which will take some work on your part to study, read, and learn. But I say this with all the truth that is in me.

YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!!

Just like marriage takes work to make it run good. It takes work to be a good parent and raise our children right. It takes work to study and know our jobs; it will take work to be the Christian that God wants us to be. The only difference between all the others and being a good Christian is the fact that God Himself will help us as we walk by faith and not by sight in doing the right thing and being who He wants us to be.

This would make a nice devotional, but try to avoid the "definition" opening :) Some good thoughts :)
