Topic: Work (07/27/06)
Jesus said, "Work for the night is coming." This could not possibly have meant physical night because each day we have sunrise and sunset. In the context of His discussion, we can see that He was referring to the "shortness" of time. There was a limited amount of time to accomplish what needed doing.

Personal application announces itself very quickly. I must have an attitude of urgency with relation to the limited amount of time left. It then follows that I must use my energy in ways that will honour Him and use my gifts with the awareness that opportunities will soon be finished. What a privilege to be used in His service. How awesome is our God and the realization that all that we need to accomplish His purposes, He has already moved ahead of us to provide. This means that I can expend myself with joyful abandon knowing that He will provide great reward.

A good Word. Maybe time restraints didn't allow you to write more or add an example or two. Or maybe this is one of your first entries and you just wanted to get your feet wet and get it in. Or, maybe God just wanted it to be short. In any case, well done. The essence of your point was ministered well and clearly. Nice Job. God Bless.
