Dry
Parched
Cracked
Empty
Dying
So thirsty
Water
Just a drop on my tongue.
I whispered,
I cried,
I called out,
"Someone, save me.
I need some water!"
Help, at last;
A touch of a hand,
A sip at my lips,
A voice saying,
"Come."
Hope
I turn,
I crawl,
I follow the voice
Leading me
Toward the water.
Water!
Cool and refreshing.
Flowing, flowing
Endless, boundless
I drink,
I rest,
I plunge beneath.
Lord, fill me
And wash me,
And satisfy me.
With Your water.
Joy!
Laughter!
Singing!
A promise of never
Thirsting again.
I have life.
I am filled.
I see others crying.
With open palms
My cup flowing over.
I carry a drop
To help another
With Living Water.
