Heavenly Father,
Thank You for our many blessings.
For the roof over our heads and the food on the table.
And, for our friends and family.
For the jobs that You have provided.

Even though the roof sometimes leak.
Anyway you can hold off the rain for a few weeks?
Or, at least, until I can get around to fix it?
It's hard to find someone that will do the work
For the price that I want to pay.

Also, is there any way that You can help my wife?
You know she isn't the best in the kitchen.
Her chicken is dry and her roast could be offered as a sacrifice
Not that I'm complaining—it's just...
Well, You know my heart.

And what can I say about my family and friends?
Maybe make them a little less needy and whiney.
Or maybe a baby that will sleep
Clear through the night from day one. I love them.
I just would like them to have a few minor tweeks

Is there anything you can do
I would like to have a better job,
One with a little less stress, perhaps.
With a nice corner office
And an assistant to take care of all of the messes of my job.

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for our many blessings.
For the roof over our heads and the food on the table.
And, for our friends and family.
For the jobs that You have provided.

Amen.

This is great. I really enjoyed the way you formatted it. I think it's a great reminder for all of us and quite clever at that. Nice job!

This is a good picture of how we really are, I think. Its funny, in a way, convicting in another. Good writing.

You creatively convicted me with this whimsical example of many of my prayers. Thanks-I think!
