Donít think that you can walk throughout
The cyber world unseen
For there are footprints everywhere
That show where you have been

When you step through the google door
The coms and orgs we know
Those message boards and cyber cafes
And pages where you go

We make a note of webs you spin
The traces of your thread
We backward engineer your route
To thoughts inside your head

Words you think are harmless
Explode upon our screen
We eavesdrop on the pages, try to
View what you have seen

A recipe to make a bomb
And all its parts to find
A time and place to detonate
And carnage leave behind

Thereís too much information
Accessible to all
Across a cyber world unchecked
Unseen dangers sprawl

The world reduced to monitors
Where hunters mask their face
There must be secret watchers
To protect the human race

We are those silent stalkers
In the corners of your screen
The only way to stop us is
To switch off your machine.

Right on topic for sure. Loved this and the warning of the cyber world in spend so much time in, thinking we are totally anonomous...ha ha! We're not!
Very well crafted and flowed easily through the mind. Good ending too. How many times does the Lord even try to tell us to shut if down awhile.

I just love this entry. Now, this is using the topic and still working it in with a fresh POV. You did this so well. It is on topic, fresh, believable, has a great message and entertains me. Good job.

This is not only on target with the "topic" but is a profound commentary on our world today.

The best part of all is the last line - so many times I want to just "disconnect" from the world-and my computer is one of the ways I do so - "Click" all gone!

Good job- God Bless~

So true, so many sites track us as we search, our own computers store information of our searchesÖbut even if we were totally anonymous to man, God still tracks our every thought and search and thatís the most important of all! Fresh take on the topic and the poem fuels thought of how traceable our thoughts are by our actions and interests in this modern world. Enjoyed! Well done!

This was certainly on topic and quite clever. It reminded me of Big Brother or the new TV show, Person of Interest Quite scary indeed.

Brilliant and bang on target. I really, really enjoyed reading this. Great entry!

Cute, and spot on as far as 'fact' goes. This should be an 'awareness' poem posted on the side of everybody's computer! Loved the 'turn it off' ending. LOL

Your phrases, images, and words are so expertly woven here. And your "big brother" message is one we need to heed, I think. Super work! Congrats, Melanie, on your EC!

Brilliant poem Melanie with a chilling and truthful message. Excellent. Congratulations on your well deserved placing.

Clever -- a light touch, but bone chilling. This works well as a poem; not a wasted word.
