When Hulk the huntsman spider
Teamed with Moll the black cockroach,
They planned to take a day trip
On a posh exclusive coach.
They got on board at midnight—
There was no one else around,
Sought out a place of refuge
And then snugly settled down.
The tourists started boarding
In the morning after ten—
Some fifty well dressed ladies
Out on tour without the men.
The driver was quite friendly
And the hostess was a “doll”—
Seat belts secured, they take off—
Not a sign of Hulk or Moll.
They drove out from the city,
Took the route along the shore—
With scenery so splendid
Who could possibly be bored?
But tourists taking pictures
Won’t amuse a stowaway—
These two decide on action
That might brighten up their day.
What game would most amuse them?
They decide on ‘hide and seek’—
“You count to ten while I hide
And remember Hulk—don’t peek”.
So Moll takes off like lightening
Up the centre of the coach
Someone spots her scurry by,
Screams out—“eek! a huge cockroach”.
There is great consternation,
Feet and handbags off the floor,
Much loss of ‘lady-likeness’—
Very soon there will be more!
“Ready or not, here I come”
Hulk starts searching under seats—
Loud frenzied shrieks of panic
This marauding spider meets.
Scared ladies up on seat-backs,
While the ‘doll’ jumps on the dash,
The driver struggles madly
To avert the coming crash.
He steers them through some bushes,
They tip slightly to one side—
There’s not a scratch on any,
Just a lot of wounded pride.
Then Hulk spied Moll out the door
In the midst of mad melee;
“Got you”—he jumped after her—
“It’s your turn to search for me.”
Next time when down your hallway
Speeds a cockroach on the run,
A huntsman’s in the cornice—
They’re most likely having fun!
