<b>M</b>istaking that. For when she ends
<b>O</b>ne worthy task, another’s one’s begun.
<b>T</b>o-do list long. Chores mile wide. That’s not the
<b>H</b>alf of it.
<b>E</b>yes on roam, and ears up tall, she’s
<b>R</b>eady to outwit.
‘
<b>S</b>ocks from the dryer, matched, then put away, but
<b>W</b>ait, “I need that special shirt tonight,” her Honey calls to say.
<b>O</b>hhhhhhh…can you hear her dismay? “Mayday! Mayday!”
<b>R</b>eality invades her, and fast, as she hears her daughter screaming.
<b>K</b>eenly, Mom’s able to redirect,
<b>I</b>ncite her child’s mind to dreaming.
<b>S</b>atisfied, she sits for a moment…
<b>N</b>ever mind the clock. Its ticking, her
<b>E</b>nemy. Dinner must be started, though, ‘cuz she’s a
<b>V</b>olunteer at church this evening.
<b>E</b>ven there, no reprieve—she’s on call, don’t you see—a
<b>R</b>ingtone or text away. And come what may,
<b>E</b>very wandering thought
<b>V</b>eers home anyway.
<b>E</b>ndless energy
<b>R</b>equired. Lasting love of Christ transpired.
<b>D</b>oes a Godly mother’s work ever meet its end? Well, let me begin, with my
<b>O</b>pinion.
<b>N</b>o. It is only a beginning to a larger end. That day, when her Lord
<b>E</b>xclaims, “Well done. Good and faithful servant”
<b>!</b>
