FAITHWRITERS NEWSLETTER
FaithWriters.com news and information for the Write-brained Christian!

"The angel spoke to the women: "There is nothing to fear here. I know you're looking for Jesus, the One they nailed to the cross. He is not here. He was raised, just as he said." Matthew 28:5-6a (MSSG)

Isn't it AWESOME that ours is the only God who is ALIVE today? Buddha is dead. Mohammad is dead. Allah is dead. But the One, True God - OUR GOD - LIVES! HALLELUGHIA!

Invite someone to church this Easter and share the beautiful message of God's love for them!

At the end of this newsletter, read about special Easter traditions of some of our very own FaithWriters' members.

WRITING CHALLENGE

We're on the homestretch… After a brief hiatus, the final Writing Challenge quarter for this year begins on April 5! The theme for this ten-week challenge is quite different than anything we've done before. Now would be a great time to commit to entering every week! Stretch your writing skills and take your talent to a new level!

Remember, only ten more spots are open for this year's BEST OF THE BEST award! All first-place Editor's Choice entries will join previous winners as contenders for the title of Best of the Best, to be judged in July. The top three entries will receive a wonderful cash prize!

Will frequent first-place winner, Kenn Allan, maintain his title and take first again this year?

Or will YOU dethrone him and be crowned this year's B.O.B?

Don't forget - each week the top 40 overall entries, plus the top winners in each level are posted on the message boards sometime after the winners are announced on Thursday. If your name is listed, give yourself a hand! That's quite an accomplishment!

FROM THE MOUTHS OF FAITHWRITERS

This month, the following question was posed to a few select FaithWriters members:

Do you have any particular Easter traditions?

Here are some of their answers:

"Growing up, we had the traditional Easter baskets in the morning. Then, in the afternoon, we had the "Egglympics." The Egglympics consisted of a number of games played with eggs - an egg hunt, an egg toss & catch, and the cat-egg-pult competition. Certainly not all that spiritual but a whole lot of fun! Then, for dinner, my mother would cook leg of lamb." - Christopher Randolph, FaithWriters Member and elementary school teacher

"In Australia, on Easter Sunday, I love to attend the sunrise communion service at a beautiful lookout in the mountains. But in China, the week before Easter is when I get busy cooking! In China, Easter is a total non-event, but my home smells WONDERFUL as I make batch after batch of hot cross buns. I give them to friends and students with a brief explanation of Easter. In my classes, I teach the significance of hot cross buns (spices to remind us of Jesus' burial, the empty cross to remind us that He is risen, and the sweetness to remind us of what wonderfully good news this is)." - Suzanne Rowe, Australian teacher of English as a foreign language in China, and FaithWriters 500 member

"When I was growing up, the biggest Easter tradition we had was going to my maternal grandmother's house for a humongous dinner. Now that I'm married, our traditions are centered around what our church does - Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services, Resurrection Sunday breakfast, communion during the worship service, and then, if my husband has the day off, a late dinner at my widowed mother's house. I am also privileged to be able to provide some special music for the Holy Week services." - Sandra Petersen, Writer, Homeschool Mom, and FaithWriters 500 member

HAVE A WONDERFUL EASTER! May you remember the sacrifice Jesus paid on the cross for your sins AND that He arose from the grave to give YOU victory over death!
