FaithWriters.com news and information for the write-brained Christian!
"Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things." – Psalm 107:8, 9
So, for most of us, Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Is your mouth already watering at the thought of the spread that will be laid out on your table that day? Turkey…potatoes…stuffing…green bean casserole…sweet potatoes…pumpkin pie…apple crisp…Yum!
Yes, food is usually the first thing that comes to mind when we think of Thanksgiving. But we all know (or, at least, we should!) that the best part of this holiday is simply being able to focus on sincerely giving thanks for the blessings we have. What's on your "thankful list" this year? If you're like me, your list might include things like family…friends…health…jobs…homes…cars…laptops…clothing…high-speed internet access…and, of course, food! God does, indeed, fill the hungry with good things.
But hunger doesn't only pertain to physical food. Get hungry for God's Word. Taste it. Feast on it. Stuff yourself. He'll fill you up. And I guarantee His meal will be more satisfying than any turkey dinner!
On a fun note, be sure to check out the Out of the Mouths of FaithWriters section at the bottom of this newsletter, where some select members tell us which foods they can't wait to stuff themselves with on Thanksgiving Day.

THE WRITING CHALLENGE
With the holiday season upon us, how appropriate that the theme for this quarter's Writing Challenge is "Christmas." So far, topics have included Christmas Carols, Christmas Tree, Christmas Cooking/Baking, and Countdown to Christmas (Advent).
Participating in this quarter's Challenge is a great way to get into the holiday spirit! And you should have no trouble in the creativity department. Ideas for Christmas topics are everywhere (or will be soon, anyway).
It's not too late to get in on the fun! There are still six weeks remaining in this quarter, taking us almost up to Christmas. Then the Challenge will go on a brief hiatus to give the Challenge coordinator and judges (and entrants) a break to focus on holiday things.
But until then, be challenged! Click on over and submit your entry here: http://www.faithwriters.com/writing-challenge-intro.php

OUT OF THE MOUTHS OF FAITHWRITERS
What would Thanksgiving Day be like without food? I wouldn't want to know, would you? This month, for fun, I asked FaithWriters members the following question:
What food do you most look forward to indulging in on Thanksgiving Day?
Here is what some of them had to say:
"Oooh, give me stuffing, stuffing, and more stuffing! I use my mom's recipe, with walnuts and parmesan cheese, and it's decadent and delicious." – Jan Ackerson
"Sweet potatoes. I am the only person in my immediate family that likes them, so I only really "get them" during the holidays. They're melting in my mouth right now!" – Joanne Sher
"At all of our family gatherings, I do all the cooking - with the exception of Thanksgiving. For Thanksgiving, everyone pitches in and helps; therefore, I look forward to eating anything other than my own cooking." – Lollie Hofer
"Let's see...I'm picturing pumpkin pie, chocolate pie, and pecan pie, trying to make up my mind which I want to try first. Maybe I'll have a slice of each." – Verna Cole Mitchell
"I love the turkey sandwich on a fresh homemade roll that comes a couple hours after the Thanksgiving Dinner. Throw in another piece of pumkin pie, heavy on the whipped cream!" – Connie D.
"Stuffing!!!!!!!!!!! I LOOOOOVE stuffing!!! The delicious boxed stuff that is!!!" – Elisabeth Lu
THIS NOVEMBER, MAY YOUR HEARTS HUNGER FOR GOD AND BE STUFFED WITH LOTS OF THANKSGIVING.
WE, AT FAITHWRITERS, WANT TO LET YOU KNOW HOW THANKFUL WE ARE FOR YOUR CONTINUED PRAYERS AND SUPPORT.
KEEP WRITING FOR THE KINGDOM!
