FAITHWRITERS NEWLETTER
FaithWriters.com news and information for the write-brained Christian!

"Could it be any clearer? Our old way of life was nailed to the cross with Christ, a decisive end to that sin-miserable life—no longer at sin's every beck and call! What we believe is this: If we get included in Christ's sin-conquering death, we also get included in his life-saving resurrection." – Romans 6:6a (MSSG)

This month we have the honor of celebrating the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Isn't it awesome? This verse not only tells us that when we believe, our old life has passed away, nailed to the cross with Jesus, but that we also have blessed hope! We are included in Jesus' life-saving resurrection. What a glorious thought!

At the end of this newsletter, check out some creative ways that FaithWriters members summed up the Easter Story in only six words.

CONFERENCE NEWS…

Attending conferences are perhaps the most valuable way to hone your writing skills. But the benefits of the FaithWriters conference even go deeper than that. This special conference offers a unique way to connect with other Christian writers who not only understand you but who can encourage you in your writing journey like no one else can.

AUSTRALIA

NASHVILLE
Many of the hundred writers who attended last year's FaithWriters inaugural conference can't say enough about how much they learned about the craft of writing. But even with the awesome teaching, the new (and probably lifelong) friends they've made truly turned out to be the highlight of that brief weekend in Detroit. So whether learning the craft is your primary focus, or you are looking to connect with other Christian writers, the FaithWriters Nashville conference is for you.

But as wonderful as last year's conference was, this year will be even better! We're thrilled to announce that at least two literary agents will be present to answer your questions during Friday night's Agent Panel. Mary Sue Seymour and Les Stobbe are well-respected in the industry and we are blessed and honored that they chose to join us in Nashville this August.

For the full schedule, as well as all of the conference details, go to: http://www.faithwriters.com/conference.php.

In the meantime, if you have any questions about the conference, visit the message boards, where the Conference Forum is already buzzing with excitement. http://www.faithwriters.com/Boards/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=49

THE WRITING CHALLENGE

This quarter's Writing Challenge is nearing an end. Never before have we had topics quite like these. Topics requiring entrants to illustrate meanings of phrases without using the actual phrase, such as "There's no use crying over spilt milk" and "a man is known by the company he keeps." It's been tough! But extremely rewarding. This quarter has seen some of the most creative entries to date. The topics have definitely been challenging and all of the winning entries deserve a huge round of applause! A new quarter will be starting soon. Stay tuned…

OUT OF THE MOUTHS OF FAITHWRITERS

This month's format is a little different. FaithWriters members were asked to sum up the Easter story in six words. Here are a few creative phrases they came up with.

• "It is finished" became "it begins." – J. David King
• Christ defeated death; man has life – Catrina Bradley
• Sinless One, sacrificially died, triumphantly rose – Stephanie Bullard
• Darkness fell, Christ arose, Eternity opened. – Pup
• Triumphant King, Condemned criminal, Glorified Redeemer – David Ian
• Savior sacrificed to secure our eternity. – Seema Bagai
• He died, He rose, we win! – Sarah Whitaker

We truly do win, thanks to the sacrifice Jesus' paid on that cross. How awesome to know that even death couldn't hold our King. HE LIVES! And He's coming again. What a glorious day that will be!

Have a wonderful and blessed Easter. And keep writing for the Kingdom!
