THE WRITING CHALLENGE
Well, the Challenge year has officially come to an end. The last quarter was almost certainly the most challenging Challenge to date. The stretching of those writing muscles could be heard for thousands of cyber miles. With topics like, "Write in the Science Fiction Genre" and "Write in the Romance Genre" and "Write something suitable for Children," writers had a unique opportunity to try their hand at a style they may have never even considered trying before.
Even though many topics were NOT particularly enjoyed by everyone (like "Write in the Historical Genre" and "Write in the Poetry Genre"), many stepped up to the challenge and gave it their best shot. The results were amazing! There were lots of surprises and many new names in the top 10 during the last ten weeks. Congratulations to ALL WHO PLACED this time around!
But, although challenging (and some might say exhausting!), it was also a lot of FUN! And that's what it's all about!

After a brief hiatus, the Writing Challenge will return in full force on July 5, with more typical topics. SEE YOU THERE!

FROM THE MOUTHS OF FAITHWRITERS:
The FaithWriters Conference is right around the corner! This month, we asked a few select FaithWriters the following question:
What one or two things about the FaithWriters Conference are you most looking forward to?
Here are a few replies:
"As a new writer, I'm looking forward to the workshops because I want to learn how to polish my writing and prepare it for submission and publishing. I'm also looking forward to meeting many of the people who've been caring and supportive of my dream of writing." – Dee Yoder, Homeschooling Mom and FaithWriters Member
"I'm definitely excited to meet fellow FaithWriters in person at the conference--I will finally get to meet many of the friends I've made online, face-to-face! I'm also looking forward to all the workshops that will be offered. This will be my first writers' conference and I know that God has great things in store for me." – Dara Lowe, College Student and Aspiring Writer
"I'm looking forward to spending a weekend completely immersed in improving my writing skills and meeting many of the people who have been helping me grow as a writer. I've heard it said, 'If you want to have a good marriage, hang around with people who have good marriages.'" Well, I want to be a good writer. Need I say more?" – Brad Paulson, Freelance Writer and FaithWriters 500 member
Until next month, do everything as unto the glory of God, the One who gives you the ability to do what you do! And keep writing for the kingdom!
Oh – and please… make every effort to join us in Detroit for the FaithWriters conference. We'd LOVE to meet you and thank you in person for making FaithWriters what it is - The HOME for Christian writers!
