FAITHWRITERS NEWSLETTER

FaithWriters.com news and information for the Write-brained Christian!

"Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her." Proverbs 31:28 (NIV)

Well, spring has officially sprung! Now is the time for new beginnings, new birth, new growth. Why not decide to break new ground with your writing this month? Water your skill, spend time under the SON and watch yourself bloom as never before.

Speaking of birth, this month we celebrate our moms! One question to ask yourself: "where would I be without my mother?" Think about that for a moment.

Anyway, a huge, HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all of you mothers, mothers-to-be, and grandmothers out there. May your special day be blessed and may you be surrounded by the kids and grandkids who love you. Oh - and may you be pampered as never before – you totally deserve it!

At the end of this newsletter, see what some of our FaithWriters members would love to do for their moms if money were no object.

FAITHWRITERS CONFERENCE

So have you turned in your registration?

We're getting down to the wire – only three more months to reserve your spot for the first FaithWriters conference to be held in Detroit, Michigan, August 10-12!

If you ARE planning on attending, but haven't yet registered, please, please, please notify us by using this contact form: http://www.faithwriters.com/corp-contact.php. Many who initially pre-registered have not followed through; therefore, our numbers aren't as high as we anticipated. It is VERY important that you let us know if you ARE planning to attend to avoid the possibility of conference cancellation. Cancelling will be a LAST RESORT but the reality is that we need certain a certain number of attendees to make it happen.

DON'T MISS OUT! You won't find many conferences at this special cost – only $75 ($80 after July 1) reserves your opportunity to learn from the best. Featured speaker, Sally Stuart, knows all about Christian writing and publishing. She is the renowned author of the annual, "Christian Writer's Market Guide." In her seminar, you will learn about the current trends in Christian publishing. Sally is also hosting a workshop at which you can learn to write that perfect query letter. You won't want to miss it!

Also available are several other workshops taught by various writing professionals. Learn about freelancing, how to write humor, unleashing your creativity, and getting a grip on grammar. Participate in or sit back and watch a special talent show, featuring the gifts and talents of FaithWriters members. Be prepared to laugh, cry, learn, grow, and stretch yourself as a writer alongside fellow Christians and FaithWriters who have the same goals and dreams, and serve the same loving God that you do.

Could it get any better than that?

FROM THE MOUTHS OF FAITHWRITERS…

In celebration of Mother's Day, this question was posed to a few, select FaithWriters:

If money were no object, and you could buy or do one thing for your mom this Mother's Day, what would it be?

Here are some of their answers:

"I would gather the entire family for one day. Not just my siblings and their children, but her surviving siblings as well." – Tim Chezum, husband, father, writer, and dedicated FaithWriters member

"If money were no object, I'd buy my mother a house on the coast where she could retreat when she felt life closing in on her. I have a feeling she'd use it a lot in the next year or so." – Lauren Bombardier, FaithWriters member and frequent challenge participant

"If money were no object and it had to be something "material" I'd get her a house cleaner. I'd also probably get her a chef, at least for the family gatherings. If we are talking about more "impossible" things, I'd give her peace of mind that all three of her children are safe. I'd also give her about 5 extra hours per day so she could have some time for herself. She's a preschool teacher and works either in the classroom or on class preparations most of the time she's awake. Still in the "impossible" realm, I'd give her the assurance that everyone she knows will be in heaven someday." – Allison Egley, recent college graduate and FaithWriters 500 member

'Til next month, go hug your mother, your grandmother, or any important mother-figure in your life and tell her how special she is!

You are special too! Thanks for your prayers and support of the FaithWriters ministry.

This spring may you grow and blossom in your writing as you cultivate your gift. Keep writing for the kingdom!
