Rubinstyn Bluthenthal is a native Californian born, raised and educated in that state.
After graduating from David Starr Jordan high school located in Los Angeles, CA in the early 1960s, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and after receiving basic and advanced training, spent the remainder of his enlistment as a U.S. Army Engineer (Liquid Oxygen & Nitrogen Production Specialist) in Bad Kreuznach, Germany.
Upon receiving his Honorable Discharge, he returned to California and immediately joined the work force.
After a few years of working in the Cryogenic field, he returned to school utilizing his government educational benefits. After a few years of study he re-entered the workforce
as a skilled Computer Programmer / Analyst and began his career programming IBM Mainframes and resolving computer related business and financial issues for a number of companies in Los Angeles.
He started his career in IT (Information Technology) in January 1977. He was hired as the first Afro-American Programmer/Analyst to work for the Sears Corporation Headquarters on the west coast in Alhambra, CA.
After a satisfying IT career that has spanned 35 + plus years ending in 2008, Mr. Bluthenthal has semi-retired from his profession as a Computer Scientist. He has turned his attention to Freelance Writing hoping that his articles will inspire his readers and they will be able to glean something positive from his 55 + years of life observations.
He holds a PhD in Computer Science.
He has been married to his beautiful wife Willie for 29 plus years and enjoys spending time with his 4 Great-Grandchildren in the Victorville, CA. area.
