My name is Victor Torres. I am a 26-Time World Arm Wrestling Champion, 10-Time United State National Champion, 27-Time California State Champion, and a winner of 127 career arm wrestling titles. I use arm wrestling as a platform to share with others where real strength comes from--Jesus Christ. I recently wrote a book entitled, "Armed For Battle and Destined For Glory!" My book was a Finalist at the 2012 Global E-Book Awards for "Best Christian E-Book of the Year" and "Best Autobiography." It is available through my website, Armed4Battle.com and Amazon.com. I detail some of the major struggles that I was able to overcome, especially as a child, such as bullying, beatings, parental abuse, death of a parent, low self-esteem, poverty, and negative stereotypes. I take the reader through a journey that highlights what I did to overcome these adversities, including becoming an athlete, training with weights to keep the bullies away from me, and eventually an athletic career through arm wrestling after I realized following my salvation experience that it was part of the calling and ministry that the Lord commissioned me to become involved with.
Along the way, I share how God opened a door for me to go to college as a result of my strong work ethic in school. I earned 17 scholarships and grants as a student, earned 2 Master's, 2 Bachelor's Degrees and 3 Community College Credentials. In addition, I went on to become a School Counselor (23 years now) and have been honored by having been awarded 8 national awards for demonstrating leadership and excellence in the field of Education and Counseling, including 2 national awards from Who's Who Among America's Teachers.
I now have a very successful website that recently reached one million visitors in just 8 months, which has also drawn over 100,000 visitors for six months in a row now. I also do motivational speaking and address such issues as overcoming bullying, child abuse, stereotypes, anger management, codependency, and much more.
I care a lot about people, which is why I decided to start a website where I write numerous articles on emotional healing to help people who have experienced the devastation of the loss of a love one through death or divorce, for example. I also address such issues as perfectionism, choosing to not be offended, life after divorce, living an abundant, thriving life as opposed to merely a life of survival.
