I am a duel major in the bachelor of art for elementary education and special education. I have a passion for learning and love teaching those who others call “unreachable” or “unteachable.” They are reachable and teachable; they learn and think outside the box. Reaching these wonderful unique people is a challenge and an honor. What I love most about school is learning more about who I am and what my abilities truly are. Since I have begun my school career, I have learning that I have a passion for the challenge of writing, I love the English language. The most important thing I have learned is that I love to face and conquer topics that are great challenges. Honestly, the most challenging part of my school career was making the decision to return to school.
At eleven years old, I began working as a babysitter. This grew into a twenty-two year career that became my passion. Children are the most amazing of all of GOD’s creations! Their innocence and unique view of the world is a refreshing. They see things as they truly are. My children are my main motivators for going back to college and getting my PhD in education/special education. In the future, I want to work with special children and teach others to work with them also.
I have witnessed first-hand how the current secular union ran education system has failed the wonderful and unique individuals that learn outside the box. This has spurned me on to learn how to reach them outside the box. Attending GCU gives me the opportunity to gain my education without the secular view and thoughts. A CHRISTian education is very important to me. At GCU, I will grow in my walk with JESUS as well as learn how to teach and reach.
