I am a 48 year old Christian, homemaker and mom to my 16 year old son. I have been writing fiction since the age of 12. At 23, I gave my life to the Lord, and God changed my desire to write for money and fame to a desire to honor Him through the gifts he has given me. Up until now, pursuing a career as a freelance author could only be a dream, but now, with my son mostly grown, God has granted me the time and opportunity to write professionally full time. In November of 2011 I participated in NaNoWriMo National Novel Writing Month, completed the 1st draft of my novel, "Fireflies of Switchmore Creek" (Sample chapters available upon request), a novel partially based on the events of my childhood and young adult life, chronicling the mental and physical abuse and neglect I received at the hands of those whom I should have been able to trust, and how that pattern carried over into my adult life, even though I had no memories of the abuse. The book also testifies of God's power to renew and restore someone who was so broken, and the ability to forgive those who had done the wrong. I am currently working on the 2nd draft "Fireflies of Switchmore Creek" and hope to have it completed and ready for publication by the end of 2012. I have written several short stories for young adults and children that have yet to be published. I will mention, however, that I wrote and self-published several newsletters when I was a homeschool mom in Oklahoma 8-10 years ago, and head of 2 homeschool groups at different times. However, I cannot provide samples as it was so long ago. Also, I wrote and published, along with my husband, a short story, Nothing New Under the Sun, about child sacifice and it's comparisons to the problems of abortion and the low regard for human life that is so prevelent in our world today (which we published as a track in the early '90's, and it even reached people in South Africa). I am currently seeking steady writing employment as I pursue my writing career. If you are interested, you can contact me either here on faithwriters, or by email at danafeero@outdrs.net. Sample manuscripts available upon request. Thank you and God bless.
