Jennie Porter graduated from Ashland University with a BS in Education in 1985.
She was first published in an Educational Journal with a series of articles on Study Skills for at-risk students in 1992.
During that same time she privately tutored students with learning disabilities in the Paradise Valley City Schools.
She also tutored Asian graduate students in Conversational English for the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, AZ.
From 1998-2007 she worked as a tutor and substitute in the Perry Local Schools while helping learning-disabled students pass the State Proficiency Tests.
For over twenty years she has written vignettes for choral programs and church services.
In 2005, she won third place in a Christian Writer’s Conference hosted by Malone College.
In 2009, she won first place for a writing competition sponsored by More Magazine, a magazine for mature women.
She is currently working on a novel while creating a website teaching women how to complete their own “Honey Do” lists.
She has been married for twenty-nine years and has three grown sons.
It is Jennie’s goal to enable women to complete simple home improvement projects. Her specialties include tiling, faux painting, decorating, flower arranging, light plumbing, dry walling, faux ceilings, homeopathic cleaners, and of course, writing.
