I have been writing from as far back as I remember. Back to when I was 3 or 4 years old and learning to turn letters into words to make stories come alive on paper. I have traveled through every genre before finding my happiness and true calling with Inspirational Poetry/Prayer Conversations with God, teaching, children, and my beautiful parish family. My first poem was published when I was eleven-years-old—on the front page of the school newspaper. I can still recall the thrill and feelings of artistic achievement in seeing my name in print. It hooked me.
I am a graduate of The Institute of Children’s Literature and the Writer’s Digest Novel Writing course. I’m also an active member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. And, as you probably know by now, my pastor, The Very Reverend Father Jose Gonzalez and our Pastoral Liturgical Ministry Coordinator, Diane Sochacki are my best friends! There was/is a third name to go here, my most beloved and first prayer partner and spiritual director, Georgia Quirk. She is solely responsible for leading me back to God after 40+ years of being away. May you rest in the peace of our all-loving friend, healer, and comforter, Jesus Christ. Thank you so much for leaving me with your favorite prayer card (my favorite now) “Jesus, Help Me.” I pray it numerous times throughout the day. I love you and I miss you terribly!
I also lost my beloved dad in 2009, my mom who lived with us since my dad’s death in November of 2014, my brother Johnny in 2013, and my most special brother and lifetime best friend, Jerry August 5th of this year (the 65th anniversary of my baptism).
I live in Sebring, Florida with my husband of 45 years. Currently, I am a fulltime Office Manager at an RV resort. I’m also the Coordinator and Facilitator of our parish Bereavement Ministry and Grief Support Group, and a second grade Catechist at St. Catherine’s Parish.
All of us pray in our own special way. For me, I have always prayed through poetry. I don’t know why, I never questioned it, I just went with it. Here you will read prayers primarily inspired by the Holy Spirit There are prayers/poems for my dear friends, my Pastor, my very own “Blessed Mother,” my husband, my brothers, and then there are the poems/prayers of strictly my feelings. My feelings of being and Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, feelings about God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit. Feelings/poetry prayers on death, joy, happiness, peace. All of these poems are a collection through the years, starting when I was seven-years-old (thank you, Mom for having saved these precious gems that I left unedited and from the mind and heart of a seven-year-old who was (and still very much is) in love with Jesus Christ.
I welcome all comments, ideas, suggestions, and love to hear about what inspires you! How do you pray? Tell me about yourself, please! I love to know my readers. I promise I will read and answer all my emails, maybe not right away, but you will hear back from me!
