I've never visited the Mediterranean, but grew up in an area of Northern California that shares a simular climate. Beautiful Sonoma County, with its oak-studded hills, vineyards, and rugged coastline. I was born there, the oldest of seven children, and called it my home for the first 45 years of my life. We lived about an hour north of San Francisco--not so far that we couldn't make an easy trip into the city, but far enough away to shield us from its influence. My love of writing began here, but didn't bloom until a decade ago when I filled an 8X10 notebook with my first "novel". In the years that followed, I considered writing a hobby. God opened my eyes to my true potential not long ago when He took that humble hand-written story and created a 399 page novel. This debut novel was published in 2007, and I'll never forget the feeling of awe and amazement when I held the first copy of "Singing Winds" in my hands. I am reminded of the gift God instilled in me every time I gaze at the majestic Sierra Nevada Mountains that graces the cover. In so many ways, I still feel like a newbie in this literary word. Maybe after the projects I'm currently working on are published, I'll feel more "seasoned" as an author. Because I love to write, I'm patiently waiting on God to lead me on this journey as an author. I'm not trying to fill some quota of publishing so many books in a certain amount of time, nor am I looking to get independantly wealthy doing so. I write to please the Master. Everything that I am, and ever hope to be is because of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Without Him, I'm nothing. He has blessed me with so much more than the ability to put words to paper. I have a great parttime job at my daughter's school. I enjoy scrapbooking, gardening, photography, and working on our ten acres in the foothills of Shasta County. I share this small piece of heaven with my wonderful husband and beautiful daughter, our two dogs, our cat, and a slew of wild critters.
