If I had been an ancient Celt, most likely I would have been a Druid. Had I lived in America a thousand years ago, I almost definitely would have been a shaman. Had I treasured the Christian faith prior to the last three hundred years, it is a certainty I would be wearing a monk's robe.
However, as someone who lives in the particularly radical section of Reformation faith during the 21st century, I’m just a bit at loss for a clear description of who I am. There’s no mystical wing of Protestant faith (something I realized while an undergraduate getting a degree in theology, and later as a graduate student getting my Master of Divinity degree). When I graduated a couple years ago I spent some time trying to fit into the usual pattern of a pastor, then realized there was something deeper calling me. Oddly enough, this calling pushed me out and up—into the mountains of Southern California where I am a writer and web designer.
