My name is Jimmy Monnin and I'm a martial arts instructor and a freelance writer. I've served as youth minister at the South-side Church in Rochester NY, and as Bible school teacher at both Lawson Road (Also in Rochester) and Lake Forest (Jacksonville, Florida) I was trained in service leadership at Lake Forest Church of Christ in Jacksonville Florida. I currently lead three Bible studies for adults and families in the Rochester area, two of which are completely open.
If you are interested in attending either Bible study you can contact me through my email or phone me. If you are interested in a private study or counseling then I do these too. I'm also putting together a new Bible study this spring as soon as I have a venue to hold it in.

My primary goal is to make a more positive influence on the national conversation, and to restore compassion and service to Christianity. I believe that this will return the church to the purpose Jesus set for it in the begining and make christianity more enticing to those who've only seen the hypocritical side of it in the past. Remember that the focus Jesus gave the original Eklesia was outlined in Mathew chapter twenty-five:
"Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; Take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.' "Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry, or thirsty and give you food and drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes When did we see you sick or in prison? When did we do any of these for you that you have described?' The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'"
As I outlined in one of my most recent sermons: You flash-forward to today's culture, and sometimes we read rules like "don't murder" in the Bible, and we take that to mean we should shun a young lady whose had an abortion and hold her beneath our contempt. Other times we'll read things like bishops shouldn't be given to alcohol and conclude that alcohol itself is a sin. We sometimes read that adultery and promiscuity are frowned upon, then shout at the top of our lungs that people whom we label as homosexual should be treated as second class citizens.
