My most enjoyable jobs have been those employing my writing skills: As a radio ad rep, I wrote my clients' spots; as a furniture store sales manager, I wrote the manual; as a recruiter/trainer for a treatment foster care program, I developed, wrote and designed all initial and ongoing promotional and advertising materials and much of the training material.
God gave me a gift with words, but I've been "sidetracked" from writing specifically for Him by life in general. Yet, when there has been an immediate need, the idea and the words came quickly! In 2001, my church was in need of a Christmas Eve program. God gave me the idea for a drama with scripture and music which we pulled together and produced in three weeks. Recently, I was able to write spots for the Northeast Regional Office of Wycliffe Bible Translators that aired on local Christian stations.
I have three married sons and eight grandchildren; my husband, Ken and I live in Lancaster County, PA. We enjoy flying and walking with our two dogs (yes, the dogs like to fly, too!) I'm a private pilot and a Creative Memories Consultant. Ken flies Learjets for a charter company.
