The magic of words first wove their spell on me when I was a little girl. As soon as I learned how to write, I knew that I wanted to be a writer.
That dream has sustained me from my early days of primary school, when I would invent endless stories and turn every exercise pad into a novel; through to the place I am at today, at age 26, with my first full-length book recently completed.
I am proud to be an Australian, and believe that I live in one of the most beautiful places in the world! I work part-time as a secondary teacher of Creative Arts, and my "days off" are devoted to freelance interior decorating and, of course, to writing.
I am passionately in love with my God, and believe strongly in the call he has placed on my life. It's a call to spread his goodness and shout his fame through the power of the written word. I am dreaming big; I want my writing to go out into all the world and change lives everywhere for his glory. My dream has not yet come to fruition, but I am believing that, "Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled." (Habakkuk 2:3). May Faithwriters be another step in this journey!
I love the words of God to Jeremiah, because I have taken them as my own: " 'I knew you before I formed you in your mother's womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my spokesman to the world.'
'O Sovereign Lord,' I said, 'I can't speak for you! I'm too young!'
'Don't say that,' the LORD replied, 'for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you. And don't be afraid of the people, for I will be with you and take care of you.'
...then the LORD touched my mouth and said, 'See, I have put my words in your mouth!' "
(Jeremiah 1: 5-9)
And again, "If I say I'll never mention the LORD or speak in his name, his word burns in my heart like fire. I am weary of holding it in!"
(Jeremiah 20:9)
All praise to God, who is the giver and fulfiller of dreams. May my writing always bring a smile to his face.
