This was just a poem that came to me as my sister left to serve as a soldier in Iraq.
Tears For Our Own
My baby girl,
A head full of hair,
Your innocent laughter,
Arms tight around my neck,
Tears of joy, love at first sight.
My big sister,
In awe of your coolness,
Sharing it all from clothes to advice,
Hanging on your every word,
Tears roll, as you are the tickle torture master.
My closest friend,
Someone to laugh with,
To share old memories and create new,
You always have time to listen,
Tears fall on the shoulder you offer.
My wonderful wife,
Partner and friend,
Love of my life,
More beautiful every day,
Tears we share in good times and bad.
My incredible mom,
You know me the best,
Teaching, hugging and loving,
The best cuddle buddy,
Tears disappear with your magic touch.
Our own soldier,
Brave and strong hero,
Fighting for our free country,
Longing for support,
Tears for sorrow, fear and pride.
