Some thoughts on the care we need to live our lives so that we might be an example and grow in Christ. We must live so that others will come to Him.
Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines, for our vines have tender grapes"
This was written for a Bible Study on board the Golden Princess ship.
Many are the deep valleys, that my God has carried me through,
Many times of deep despair, when I didn’t know what to do.
I pleaded that He’d reveal to me, the lesson to be taught;
Then, in His sweet and loving way, He showed me all that I’d sought.
Sometimes, He revealed some careless acts, which I was prone to do.
Sometimes, there were deeds of omission, which I’d failed to pursue.
I wasn’t walking as closely, neglecting His Holy Word;
Allowing worldly things to creep in, His voice, I hadn’t heard.
He warned of “little foxes”, creeping in to ruin the vine.
God needed to get my attention, that He might show me mine.
Christians can be stumbling blocks, to those walking in His Way.
We need to examine thoughts and actions, causing men to stray.
Our lives are to be a temple, where God’s Spirit can be seen,
A soft spot for needy ones to fall, a place for them to lean.
God needs to prune our branches, though painful, this seems to be;
But it will be worth it all, when there is fruit upon our tree.
We are in a Spiritual battle, but when our battle is won;
Each valley will have been minor, when we hear Christ’s Words, “Well done!”
