HIS EYES BLAZE FOR ME

Iím standing on a mountain
Staring up to the sky
And I can feel the wind caressing my face,

My day drifts away
As I relax in the sun
And my heart begins to slow in its pace

My mind starts to wander
And Iím drifting away,
To a fantastical time and space

The heavens open up
To a mystical curtain
And Iím dreaming Ďbout a mist-covered place

Thereís a fog all around me
As Iím straining my eyes
To catch a vision of Eternity

I canít see its shore
As I'm wandering lost
But I know thereís something ready in store

The mist never parts
And Iím trapped in a plane
Stretching endless from a hollowíd out heart

Iím stumbling blind
In a featureless cloud
And Iím shouting out for someone to find

(But) then a Hero alights
With his eyes shining bright
And he shows me the way for to see

And its by his side
I know Iíll always abide
And I know his eyes blaze for meÖ

His eyes blaze for me!

Now Iím high on a tower
With the world down below
And I can feel the serpent enemyís power

His breath is rolling flame
And his talons are Pain
And Loneliness is his hated name

I cry in my fear
In my own desperation
That thereís no one in the world left to hear

The plains are scattered bones
Of ones defeated before
And those who abandoned me all stranded alone

(But) Come across the plains
One Hero remains
Whoís rode through Infinity

And with his chestnut curls
His sword it now whirls
And I know his eyes blaze for meÖ

His eyes blaze for me!

And thereís no mountain too high
Where he canít hear my cry
And thereís no plain too wide
Where he canít to me ride
And his sword defeats all
And my enemies fall
And I know that Iím free
When his eyes blaze for me!

His eyes blaze for me!
Blazing for me!
His eyes blaze for me!

Now my dream changes sight
To the pit of the world
And Iím chained into the blackest of night

In this cavernous jail
My giant captorís Fear
And he roars with a frightening rail

The foundation he shakes
With a swing of his cudgel
And in its echoes my soul quivers and quakes

ďO, deep despairĒ
I whisper while I shiver
And I cower in the inky damp air

(But) Then a crack in the dark
Begins with a spark
And my Fear starts to scramble and flee

And my savior breaks through
With his eyes burning true
And I know those eyes blaze for me

Those eyes blaze for me!

My walls once were strong
In my castle of stone
And Iím surrounded by my enemiesí throng

They number thousands deep
And theyíre chanting defeat
And I hang my head in shame while I weep

The haunting trumpet blast
Starts a terrible siege
And Iím bracing for the breath thatís my last

Iím breached on every side
And the battleís a loss
Unless thereís someone who can turn back the tide

And then out of the blue
Comes to my rescue
My Hero riding from the skies to my plea

From his eyes come a flash
And my foes turn to ash
Then I cry "Those eyes blaze for me!"

Those eyes blaze for me!

And thereís no deepest cave
He canít find me to save
And no army can stand
ĎGainst his powerful hand
And his limitless might
Shines with glorious Light
And thereís just one decree
That heís promised for me

ďMine eyes blaze for thee!Ē
His eyes blaze for me!
His eyes blaze for me!
