As we bounce along on unkempt roads,
Many thoughts flit through my mind.
People, whose lives we’d like to make better
And dear ones, we’ve left behind.
Leaving comforts of our country
For a land of poverty,
To encourage, and tell of a Savior
Who will truly set hearts free!
Telling of God, who loves them as much,
As we, who seem far more blessed.
We’ll share with them, of our bounty,
Encourage to do their best!
Because all our possessions and life
Aren’t ours, but for a while;
Should we not share with our fellow man,
And help the impoverished smile?
What are our lives and our possessions?
Nothing, but a gift from God!
We should share humbly with our brothers,
Whose path is harder to trod!
When we finally reach the village,
Our heart is filled with God’s song.
As we hug all that come to greet us,
We know we’re where we belong!
