TITLE: Now The Ocean's Riding Me.

This is a poem I wrote for a friend, William, who passed away last week, after a great fight against caner. William was in his seventies, a Scotsman,a Sailor, a great humourist! He used to say to me; 'Do you know, there are professional mourners? 'I don't understand why anyone would attend a stranger's funeral. Neeless to say, William's funeral was private!This poem I wrote as if he is speaking to me;
Rode the tide,
Sailed the Sea,
Now the Ocean's riding me.
'Fore this Sailor
Finds his feet
Upon the shore.

Loved the ebb,
Lived the flow,
Now I want you all to know
How the lighthouse welcomes me,
At last, I'm home!

Oh, my God, laughs we've had,
Memories should all be glad,
Reminiscent of the times
I've spent with friends.

Not a tear, nor a sigh!
Wasn't I just passing by?
Like the ebb and flow of tides,
We'll meet again.
