In the big window of the Hotel -
Almost omnipotent observance.
Silent, clear bright lights in chill air
Cold people heading homewards
I should do, too. Am I not one of them?
And the glittering city skyline.
By dark parks, streetlit trams and bikes
I am welcomed in my short stay.
With a warming drink in hand
And heart drawn in two directions:-
Perhaps just between the past
And the God-centred present.
