This poem was given to me by God this morning as I was praying for the uplifting of my 2 best friend who have just had very hurtful disappointments in their lives and are very depressed over them. I hope it encourages them and you.
While We Are Here 2/25/08 Dedicated to Patty and Debra Lee
When sickness and sorrow and strife behold,
Let us go to God with our mighty load,
For He is the One Who can carry these things,
And out of sorrow, joyful strains He can bring.
Our Lord is a mighty, masterful King,
It is to Him our praises we must sing.
I know how hard, when we feel so low and blue,
Thoughts of our Holy Savior to imbue,
But it is HIm we must turn to in these times,
Not looking for reasons or for the rhymes,
But with faith bursting forth to the other side,
Where Jesus, on His Holy throne abides.
There He will comfort us in our pain,
Take away the heavy burden and strain,
For He came to set the captives all free,
That was done for you as well as for me,
And life in abundance is what He wants,
So we can give Him our grateful response.
He does not want you and me to be in pain,
And that is why He came to us again,
To give us a heavenly vision of Home,
Where lions and lambs together will roam,
Where we will never again shed a tear,
That's what we look forward to while we are here.
