Poem about God's blessings, thanking Him for them, amazed that He would choose such a pilgrim as me for them, but that the most important thing is not that, but Who He is and my relationship with Him. I hope this poem doesn't come across as prideful, because my pride is not in ME, but in Jesus and what He does through me. Give me your honest opinion, please!
Just Who You Are 5/17/08

The people see
Your hand through me,
That You are my guiding force.
It is evident to them
That through You stems
The leading of my course.
I know not why
You choose or how by,
Your blessings to me lend,
But I know how I feel blessed
By the very best,
When to me Your words You send.
I cannot fathom a pilgrim like me,
So chosen to be,
But I am honored at Your call.
And I know You
Have all You can do
To pick me up when I fall.
I know that I am a saint
Of Yours, not to faint,
But to do my duty well.
At the end of the day
All the prayers I say
Are thanks for helping me to dwell.
I know on my own I am nothing,
That I must go to the King
To be of any use,
I know that He has the power
Upon me to shower
All, so I have no excuse.
I thank You my Savior and Lord,
For all the strength You afford
To use me as You will.
My gratitude enfolds me
Each day as I see
How You uphold me still.
But what You do is not what I want most,
Even on that I always boast.
It is just Who You are that I like best,
And the time I spend with You,
As the early morning dew
Lies on the grass to rest.
