This was an assignment for a creative writing class I recently took. I was actually up at 3AM looking at the moon! All critiques are always welcome.
Watch Out for the Moon
3:00 AM
It is in the middle of the night,
or, perhaps better said, the wee hours of the morning.
The full moon glows brightly like the sun,
and yet, softer, more mellow.
Down the way, a dog is barking.
Do you think he barks at the man in the moon?
The air is crisp, cold
which makes the warm glow of the moon
even warmer.
6:00 AM
The moon has begun its descent.
Now a globe of golden glow.
Slowly over the still landscape it falls
only later, to rise again.
7:30 AM
A white orb now,
shadow of former self.
And yet,
a foretaste of things to come?
