The weekly writing challenge with the topic of "Siblings" is coming up blank for me. This poem has been rattling in my head, so I sat down and wrote it.
Bill the pill
Rolled down the hill
I took his picture off my sill
He asked for bail
Got a letter in the mail
We don't like visits at the jail
This sibling is a mess
Now he can get some rest
The public he can not pest
He got busted for drugs
He stole $5 from a thug
He lost his begging mug
Bill hears voices
His thoughts run like roaches
He makes bad choices
We are not going to bail him out
We don't care anymore if he pouts
We've tried praying for him to straighten out
We know he is not homeless anymore
No more seeing him beg outside the door
He has a roof and even a floor
Bill the pill
Rolled down the hill
He can stay in jail
