A poem about the power of God to save us from our enemies.
Saved Again 4/22/08
My enemies seek to kill and destroy,
But You have legions of angels to employ.
The Father, the Son, and the great Holy Ghost,
Have been with me when I have needed them most.
In the heat of the night, as they seek their mark,
The thunder clouds clap and the sky is dark.
I have been surrounded by enemies large,
They take up their arms and begin to recharge.
But as angels' wings brush soft past my cheek,
I feel their power beginning to get weak.
My Lord and my Savior has lifted me up,
And He is beginning to fill up my cup,
Of the faith and steadfastness stilling my fear,
As my enemies flee and head toward the rear.
He places me high, above on a rock,
Where my enemies have no place to knock.
The peace rushes in from my Savior, so dear,
And finally I can see my way so clear.
The enemy's gone, defeated once again,
And I have no fear of scoundrels or of men.
I'm up above the clouds and the thundering,
The war, the pillaging, and the plundering.
He has taken me to safety, as before,
My enemies to attack me no more.
