Tears of Sorrow and Joy 4/9/08
The mistakes I made yesterday
Do not need to come back to haunt me
Because I can turn to Jesus, the One,
Who has paid the price to set me free.
I turn to Him in repentance,
Asking my sins to be forgiven,
And I leave them in His presence,
Free, because I've left them with Him.
I used to beat myself up badly,
For all the things I had done wrong,
But since I can come to my Savior,
I come away singing a new song,
For I am one of God's children,
Whom He loves so faithful, so dear,
And He wants to see no more crying
Over every little fear.
I have true tears of sorrow for grieving
When I have committed a sin,
But I also have tears of joy,
For the hope that is deep down within,
For I know that my Father forgives,
Forgets far as east is to the west,
So once I have come unto Him,
My heart can be put now to rest.
I am so grateful for Jesus,
My Savior, my Redeemer, my Star,
That I want to spread the Good News,
Anywhere, here or afar.
