Adventures of Ron Huckelberry...#12-1 Strange cat under Grandmother's house

A few weeks later Ron is on school vacation and spending the summer with Grandmother and Auntie.

Again Ron was climbing under the old house searching for marbles or maybe a forgotten rusty pistol.

Ron spotted a black cat near the front of the old house and naturally called the cat. The cat didn’t move. Ron began thinking maybe the c at was hurt, so he moved closer to check out the situation.

As he moved to with two or three feet of the cat, the animal suddenly sprayed the area with an awful stink. Luckily Ron was not any closer. Ron suddenly realized that he had disturbed a polecat. The stink was awful and Ron moved as quickly as possible out from under the house.

By this time Grandmother was outside the house calling for Ron. When Ron approached Grandmother she noticed that he was very dirty. “Ron, were you under the house?” she harshly asked.

“Yes mam.” answered Ron.

“Did you see a polecat?”

“Yes mam.” answered Ron.

“Oh Ron, what am I going to do with you?”

Grandmother phoned Auntie and Auntie came with two fans. She allowed the fans to blow towards the stink for two hours, but it didn’t help too much.
