“But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
1 Corinthians 15:57 (NIV)
Walk one step at a time putting one foot in front of the other in faith. No matter what your trial or circumstance. No matter how hard it is to face each new day. Just take the first step even if you don’t feel you can.
Every step that we take in faith God will bless each and every one. I am no stranger to feelings of despair and discouragement. Through the years He has taught me so many valuable lessons. The most life changing ones were when I was in the deep trenches of turmoil, grief, fear, depression, confusion and loss of hope.
It was at such a time in my life when I felt like an empty shell that Jesus met me there in the most profound and loving way. With seemingly every gear of my life stripped away I was now ready to live life His way. No longer did I need to figure it all out or have all the answers. I just needed to take hold of His hand and allow Jesus to help me to stand.
From wherever you are sitting or standing right now. Jesus wants to guide your faith-steps. With every step that you take that step leads you closer to the plan God has for you. Through His Son the true healing one we have hope for today and many powerful promises for tomorrow. In His hands lies our future.
He makes the weak strong and sets the captive free. To walk in victory is to walk free in Jesus. Our problems do not have to be instantly gone for us to do the faith walk. We just need to be continually surrendering it to Jesus. This surrender of our problems is an integral part of our walk.
Jesus is extending His hand. He wants you to take hold of His loving guiding hand. Let Him lead you gently and firmly into victory over whatever you face. Just because we are Christians does not mean we are without problems or that we do not ever get stuck in the muck.
What matters to Him is what we do with our problem. Let me ask you this what do you do when trouble of any kind big or small affects or afflicts your life? Do you carry the burden and handle it on your own in your own lack of strength? Or do you take it to the Father through Jesus?
I remember when I was unable to leave my home at all because of a strong bondage to fear so severe that I was totally consumed and imprisoned by it. Never will I forget how in my darkest time of life how I failed to first seek Him. I allowed my own understanding of panic attacks to lead me on the path of destruction and bondage to fear.
It was to be several years before I realized just what I had done to myself. I was guilty of carrying throughout my life all my burdens of the past and the present. My past haunted me more than I even knew. As a result of being a woman who apparently mastered the art of repression, I became internally sick. Born from all my inner bondages came the anxiety, which screamed out loudly in the form of panic attacks.
I am a woman who has suffered many trials and been in many deep valleys that have left me feeling like I am drowning in turbulent waters. When I finally began to surrender emotions (especially the repressed ones) to Jesus something remarkable began to happen. For the first time in my life I was beginning to be emotionally free.
I came to realize through my life lost in the wilderness of fear that it was not about panic attacks at all. It also was not about any other emotions that seemed to dictate my life and faith. The panic was just a symptom of many underlying causes. Some inflicted by others and many caused by me alone.
I had to learn what it really meant to have a personal relationship with Jesus. Interestingly enough I believed years ago that I had just that. Yes, I was a growing Christian but my faith and walk with Jesus was marred by my past and how I dealt with it. I never knew Jesus like I do now.
Now He is my Prince of Peace and my healing Lord. In Him I find strength for today and hope for tomorrow. God has used my journey through fear to cleanse my deepest hidden areas and bring His healing touch to my wounded spirit.
Walk in faith for all He has done for you. Start with the first step, which is to surrender all your trials to Him. He will bless you by directing your path now and in the future. No man on earth can comfort you or help you overcome adversity of all kinds like Jesus can. It hurts to suffer through challenging circumstances and often it hurts to grow.
Embrace new hope by surrendering your battle to Him and prepare yourself to suffer to grow. It is worth the faith walk and you will eventually be able to stand walking in victory with Jesus by your side every step of the way. You are a beautiful child of God and He wants you to know that He loves you even when you suffer.
“He lifted me up out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God.” Psalm 40: 2,3 (NIV)
